Russ Millions x Tion Wayne achieve UK Drill’s first ever no.1

After the viral sensation “Keisha Becky Remix” ft Aitch, Jay1, Sav’O & Swarmz which peaked in the charts at no.7, Edmonton Rapper Tion Wayne decided to call on South London's Russ Millions for what would be his “last ever drill song”. The pair were quiet in the last quarter of 2020, with Tion peaking at no.7 again with summer anthem “I dunno” in May 2020 and Russ taking some time away from social media to focus on life and evaluate his career and the next steps.

After months of teasing about the new Russ x Tion, the preview was finally posted and started circulating instantly. A transition of Russ dancing by videographer Wowa was the big game-changer in terms of this single though as it was the beginning of what is going to be a timeless trend on TikTok. This trend created a lot of anticipation for this release and it achieved 1 million views in 1 day, the 6th time Russ has achieved this.

'Body' was also boosted by an all-star remix featuring Bugzy Malone, Buni, Fivio Foreign, Darkoo, ArrDee, and E1 and ZT from 3x3. This is where another trend was created, this time from Brighton rapper ArrDee’s enters in his verse. This helped the single remain in the top 20 for the 3rd week in a row and jump from no.11 to no.4 in the charts.

After running a campaign and gaining support from fellow artists all over the country as well as dropping another remix with Italian artists Capo Plaza & Rondodasosa, they did it. The track finished last week with 71,208 sales, and also received over 2.6m global streams on Spotify last Thursday alone, with the song also becoming the UK's first rap number one since Stormzy’s 2019 collaboration with Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy, 'Own It'. The single is now on course to retain the top spot in the charts and is en route to become platinum with 250,000 sales. This is a great achievement for Russ x Tion and it is a very big achievement for the UK Drill and Rap culture.
