Zack Morris, the BBC Eastenders actor and DJ delves into how his journey began, what drives him and advice he wished he had received when starting out as an actor.
PWR:
Describe yourself in 3 words.
ZM:
"Dedicated, Passionate, creative"
PWR:
How did your acting Journey begin?
ZM:
"It was just a hobby, I didn't grow up in an environment that was full of creatives, I grew up in a working-class household, I found this little thing when I was 9, where you could be creative and step outside and make a little change...
"The first thing I did was an advert for a Premier Inn and I will never forget. Do you remember those Lenny Henry adverts? The face of the Premier Inn, I did this advert where I played a younger version of him..."
PWR:
How has your journey with Eastenders helped you develop as an actor?
ZM:
"It’s helped me develop in every way, I started when I had just turned 18. It was my birthday and then next week I started filming and as we know at 18 that’s the age where you start to live your best life; you go out and start to experience it all."
"What it made me realise is how new I was to the industry and if you want to do this as a career, you need to take it seriously."...
My goal is to act and tell stories and bring storylines to justice and make people feel uncomfortable with what they're watching, to wake people up, that's what I love to do. Telling real life stories, that's what I want to do, just at a higher level."
